Advisory groups
The City Council and city departments get advice from advisory groups on community topics.
Depending on the nature and structure of the group, they are sometimes referred to as a:
- Board
- Commission
- Committee
- Task force
- Working group
Common
Groups
ADA Access Advisory Committee
Advises the City on disability issues. Connects people with disabilities, service agencies, and the community to improve accessibility.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
Promotes safe biking and walking in San Rafael. Helps plan and support related city projects.
Board of Library Trustees
Advises and supports the Library, helps plan for a new library, advocates to City Council, and promotes library services.
