Get a disabled parking placard

If you have a qualifying disability that limits your mobility, you can get a placard for parking in designated accessible spaces.

Need to know

  • No fee (temporary placards have a small fee)
  • Issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
  • Medical certification from a licensed health professional is required

What to do

  • Download complete the REG 195 form
  • Have your medical provider fill out the certification section
  • Submit
    • Online
    • By mail to the DMV (address listed on the form)
    • In person at a DMV office (appointments recommended)
