Request a transportation analysis assessment

Some development and transportation projects need a transportation analysis. Request an assessment to find out if you need one.

Need to know

  • Cost?
  • How long it takes to do?
  • Key eligibility criteria?
  • Penalties?

Before you start

This assessment determines if you will need a transportation analysis for your project.

The form requires a description of your project, its potential transportation impacts, and any proposed changes to access, circulation, or parking.

About the Transportation Analysis Guidelines

Our guidelines focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and vehicle miles traveled (VMT) — the total amount of driving a project causes.

We're looking for ways to:

  • Make it easier to walk, bike, or take transit
  • Shorten trip distances
  • Support electric and low-emission vehicles

These changes help build a safer, more sustainable transportation system for everyone.

Steps

1. Complete the assessment form

Download and fill out the Transportation Analysis Assessment form. Be thorough and accurate in describing your project.

2. Submit the form with a site plan

Include a site plan when you submit your completed form.

What's next

We will evaluate your project and determine if a transportation impact analysis will be required or not.

If it does, review the transportation analysis guidelines to understand when an assessment is needed, what level of analysis is expected, and what supporting materials you must include.
